JCI, located in Warsaw Indiana the “Orthopedic Capital of the World®”, is an engineering and new product development company. Our consultants are comprised of product management, engineering, quality, and regulatory consulting professionals with a passion for design, problem solving, and out-of-the-box thinking.  We are ideally located to supply expertise and support for orthopedic products and projects and provide a conduit to Warsaw’s resources. JCI supports all phases of product development from discovery research, strategic planning, product definition, design, and engineering development through production start-up and launch. We accelerate companies’ introduction of new products into the orthopedic marketplace. We are experts in the design and development of implants and instruments, integrating disruptive technology into the surgical workflow, coordinating the manufacturing, and monetization of ideas and products.  JCI can work with you to find unique and valuable solutions, mature ideas from concept to launch and/or provide independent review of products being developed to ensure they meet quality and regulatory guidelines. Over 15 Years of Experience

Jody Claypool – President

Jody Claypool has been in the orthopedic industry since 2001.  Before starting JC Innovations LLC in July of 2016, Jody held multiple positions in research and development including Product Development Engineer, Product Manager, and Program Manager.  Through his career, he worked with large and mid-size companies, to design instruments that significantly reduce cost, improve surgical performance, and provide valuable interoperative feedback.  His work has generated more than 20 patents, thus far.  In 2014, he won a Golden EID (Excellence In Design) Award for his work on the Zimmer Biomet Persona® The Personalized Knee System, Instruments.  Since then, he has been focused on finding opportunities to create industry leading innovations. Jody is an adjunct professor at Trine University where he teaches Solid Mechanics, Machine Design, Computer-Aided 3D Modeling, Engineering Graphics, and Advanced Parametric Design.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo, and a Master of Business Administration from the Indiana Institute of Technology. When he’s not working with customers to realize their vision, Jody spends his time giving back to the Warsaw community through youth focused organizations, playing soccer, and spending time with family.

 

Jerry Beck – Systems & Operations Partner

Jerry Beck is an accomplished, goal oriented, and forward-thinking executive with demonstrated success in both domestic and international multi-site roles in a variety of highly competitive and fast-paced industries. He has a proven track-record of successfully navigating and analyzing complex organization restructuring requirements and identifying key deficiencies, risks, and potential opportunities to deliver innovative and cost-effective operational solutions. With over 31 years of experience in aerospace and medical device industries, Jerry has been responsible for managing international multi-site business operations with 150+ employees. He has worked with companies including Medtronic, Philips, and GE Aerospace. He has led process efficiency initiatives for spinal and biologics design & manufacturing, LoB broadband networks, and advanced R&D development laboratories. Jerry has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from State University of New York Institute of Technology, an Associate of Applied Science Aerospace Engineering State University of New York, and he is a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. Jerry provides leadership, strategic deployment guidance, and process improvement to organizations seeking to streamline new product development time to market, reduce/cut labor & overhead process costs within the manufacturing facilities & front office, and institute effective process controls. He understands the value of performance metrics and how to acquire and use data to optimize overall business performance. Jerry lives in Warsaw Indiana.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and son, home renovation, and working on vehicles to keep his troubleshooting skills sharp. He is a certified USPSA chief range officer and travels to USPSA national matches held throughout the Unites States.
